McLaren Electric Inc. completed a major electrical upgrade for a duplex in San Mateo to address insurance requirements and improve the property's electrical safety.
The project included removing the existing knob-and-tube wiring and replacing it with a modern grounded electrical system. We also replaced an outdated Federal Pacific electrical panel and an older fuse box with modern circuit-breaker panels.
One of the existing subpanels was located inside a closet. Our team relocated it to a safer, code-compliant location where it remains readily accessible and maintains the required working clearances.
This project gave the duplex a safer and more dependable electrical system while addressing several common concerns found in older San Mateo properties.
